Spyker, the supercar maker which has recently acquired the Saab company, has announced that the all-new Saab 9-5 sedan will arrive this summer.
The primary facts about the new flagship sedan are:
Standard and optional features include adjustable suspension, automatic parking, head-up display, Harman/Kardon audio system, and many more.
The Saab 9-5 is the pinnacle of the "airplane" style of the company (the mother SAAB airspace corporation develops and produces military fighters and other planes, and some of technical and ergonomic solutions of Saab cars were borrowed from the head company`s airplane expertise).
Now the driver`s cabin is purposefully stylized as a plane cockpit, including some of dashboard gauges and the head-up display! Also the exterior of the car is quite unique, though you won`t find wings there, of course.
There will be both front- and all-wheel-drive versions., and four available engines (3 petrol ones and a diesel).
All the engines are turbocharged. The most powerful one is the 2.8 liter V6 making 300 horse power. Besides that, also 2.0 liter (220 hp) and 1.6 liter (180 hp) gasoline engines will be available. Finally, there will be a 2-liter diesel engine.
The price for 300-hp AWD version will start from about €50 000, and the cheaper versions will begin at about €34 000. The cars will arrive to showrooms in June.
