2010 Saab 9-5 coming this summer

1) Premium size and equipment: the Saab 9-5 is an almost 200-inch-long sedan, with size and equipment making it close rival to the Audi A6, the Mercedes E-class, the BMW 5-series etc.

Spyker, the supercar maker which has recently acquired the Saab company, has announced that the all-new Saab 9-5 sedan will arrive this summer.

The primary facts about the new flagship sedan are:

2) Airplane-inspired style

Standard and optional features include adjustable suspension, automatic parking, head-up display, Harman/Kardon audio system, and many more.

3) Power and dynamics: available 300-hp turbo engine and all-wheel-drive

The Saab 9-5 is the pinnacle of the "airplane" style of the company (the mother SAAB airspace corporation develops and produces military fighters and other planes, and some of technical and ergonomic solutions of Saab cars were borrowed from the head company`s airplane expertise).

Now the driver`s cabin is deliberately stylized as a plane cockpit, including some of dashboard gauges and the head-up display! Also the exterior of the car is quite unique, though you won`t find wings there, of course.

4) about $50 000 for the most powerful version

There will be both front- and all-wheel-drive versions, and three available engines.

All the engines are turbocharged. The most powerful one is the 2.8 liter V6 making 300 horse power. Besides that, also 2.0 liter (220 hp) and 1.6 liter (180 hp) gasoline engines will be available. The price of the most powerful version will start from about $50 000, and the cheaper versions will begin at about $43 000

The price for 300-hp AWD version will start from about $50 000, and the cheaper versions will begin at about $43 000. The cars will arrive to showrooms in June.
